Help with 89 Surf

Hello, I have recently bought an old workhorse 89 Surf Turbo. I have no idea of diesel engines and have been given conflicting info re Engine oil.

1. I should use turbo diesel engine oil

2. I should use standard diesel engine oil.

my question Is there a difference?

It doesn't matter at all, they are not a complex engine as some of the later ones.
