VSC and TRAC OFF Light comes on

When the check engine light comes on, Why does the VSC and TRAC OFF light come on in the gauge panel for a code p0430?? thanks for any help

My 08 Sienna has the same problem. The check engine light, VSC and TRAC off lights are all on. Besides, my low tire pressure lights are also on. Any one has suggestion? Thanks

Possible causes

- Three way catalyst converter Bank 2

- Exhaust tube

- Intake air leaks

- Fuel injectors may be faulty

- Fuel injector leaks

Possible solution

The most common cause it the three way catalyst converter Bank 1.

P0430 Description

The ECM or PCM monitors the switching frequency ratio of heated oxygen sensors 1 and 2.



A three way catalyst converter(Manifold) with high oxygen storage capacity will indicate a low switching frequency of heated oxygen sensor 2. As oxygen storage capacity decreases, the heated oxygen sensor 2 switching frequency will increase.



When the frequency ratio of heated oxygen sensors 1 and 2 approaches a specified limit value, the three way catalyst (Manifold) malfunction is diagnosed.





When is the code detected?

- Three way catalytic converter Bank 2 does not operate properly.

- Three way catalyst converter Bank 2 does not have enough oxygen storage capacity.

Tech notes

If the P0430 code is combined with other codes, try fixing the other codes first.



For security reasons, the VSC and TRAC always get deactivated when the check engine light is on.

I have an '08 sienna with 87k miles on it. These three lights came on last night while my wife was driving on the interstate. We have the bumper to bumper Toyota warranty for 100k miles - would you expect this to be covered repair?

Maybe the O2 Sensor Bank 2 very easy to remove and reinstall

i've got this problem on my '07 sienna once be4 and that was what happened

This happened on my 08 Sienna at 18,000 miles. It was a faulty oxygen sensor. (When I asked the service guy at the dealership why a faulty O2 sensor triggered warning lights for traction and stability control, he shrugged and said "I dunno.")
