Anyone know how many months or years the warranty is for Toyota OEM exhaust parts? as I need an exhaust for my 1995 4-Runner and someone mentioned Toyota has lifetime warranty if it's true is it if they install the system or you as well?.
How long do OEM Toyota exhaust parts last in states or provinces where there is humidity from ocean or road salt sprayed in winters to melt snow?.
Reason I ask is I have tried Bosal,Dynomax/Walker and several other brands and all only seem to last 2 years,I am talking about muffler/tailpipes only lasting 2 years usually.

I just replaced my 98's at the end of winter. I did the cat back, but only the tail section failed on me. Corroded on the exit of the muffler which would have meant muffler as wellas tail pipe. I thought it did pretty good. 300,000 km of abuse.

Can anyone who works at a Toyota dealership find out if what these 3 exhaust parts are made out of:
Front pipe # 17410-35320
Muffler (muffler/tailpipe) # 17430-3D052
Catalytic converter # 18450-35150
by either grabbing them from your parts dept or calling Toyota distribution?.

I have a 99 Avalon, & I replaced the muffler with Walker Quiet Flow 3, & regret ever since. I tried to save money Walker $90 vs Dealer $260, buy my Avalon is not quiet as the original anymore. Avalon supposed to be a quiet car. Further Walker muffler developed a leaky rust spot on one of the joints with in a year. Ya.. I am in Canada, but the original muffler lasted 10+ yrs.
Dealer parts are made of better quality Stainless Steel than anyone else out there. Thats how they last so long. Even if the same OEM make parts for open market, they WON'T be the same quality as what was in the vehicle.

No Toyota exhaust systems are not lifetime warranty. They are made out of stainless steel. As in anything, extreme weather conditions add to the breakdown of these items. Salt, snow, cold, moisture, these elements are not good on anything.
