High pitch noise from fuel pump?

I have a 1991 pickup with a 22re. After I start my truck I can hear a high pitch noise. It not loud or anything, and I do have kind of sensitive hearing. Anyways, it took me a while to pinpoint, and its coming from the fuel tank. So I'm assuming that its the fuel pump. Is this a normal sound or should I be planning on replacing the pump?
